The Vampire Diaries cast is full of summer babies. Just a few weeks ago, Steven R. McQueen celebrated his 23rd year of life and Sara Canning lived up her 24th bday. And, this past weekend, Paul Wesley (the broodster behind Stefan Salvatore) bid adieu to an even 28 and welcomed an exciting 29!

In honor of Paul’s special day, we’ve put together a list of kick-ass facts about him. Check out our top five faves below:

1. He reportedly doesn’t own a television.
2. He attended Rutgers University for a semester.
3. He speaks Polish fluently.
4. He got kicked out of an all boys Catholic high school back in the day. (Bad boy status complete!)
5. He has naturally pointed teeth. (Not the reason he was cast but certainly helps him get into vamp mode!)

TVD Season 3: Potential Vampire Slayer?


Guess who’s coming to Mystic Falls? Jack Coleman - whose previous roles including playing Hayden Panettiere’s father Noah Bennet on Heroes and Angela’s closeted fiance, State Senator Rob Lipton on The Office. This time around, according to TV Guide, Jack’s portraying a man named Bill who’s a former resident of Mystic Falls (with a some serious vamp hate).

This “Bill” character doesn’t yet have a surname but we’re contemplating whether or not he’s a long-lost member of the Fell clan or perhaps even Caroline Forbes‘s MIA father.

Is Buffy The Vampire Slayer Coming To Mystic Falls?



Sorry to burst your bubble, Whedon fans, but Buffy the Vampire Slayer won’t be making a cameo in Mystic Falls. However, another crossbow wielding, vamp assassin definitely is.

Yesterday, we mentioned that Jack Coleman (the awesome Heroes alum) will be guest-starring on TVD Season 3, and we theorized whether or not he’d be the new slayer. Turns out, we can cross that theory out. He’s playing a character named Bill and the rogue vamp killer will go by Eric. (Hold up a sec–Eric and Bill? Coincidental…or possible tribute to True Blood?) And, according to TVLine, the H-O-T slayer is going to be like “Indiana Jones with a stake instead of a whip.”

Bloody hell! We’re stoked about this new guy but hopefully he won’t experience any qualms about dusting a vamp or two. After all, Alaric was supposed to be one but he seems more keen on fraternizing with his enemies rather than driving stakes through their hearts (Elijah’s dinner party murder aside).

It sounds like the third season of The Vampire Diaries is going to be chock full of dangerous twists and dark visitors.

TVD News: Mr. Somerhalder Goes to Washington


This past week, Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder headed to Washington D.C. to speak before Congress about preserving wildlife. There, the founder of the Ian Somerhalder Foundation urged Congress to consider the Multinational Species Conservation Funds Reauthorization Act, and he offered staggering statistics about endangered species such as tigers, rhinos, and marine turtles.

“Wildlife and environmental conservation has always been not just a passion, but a priority of mine.” This quote seriously blew us away as did his whole amazing speech! Ian continues to wow the public with his unrelenting dedication to preserving the environment and protecting animals, and we earnestly hope that Congress considers the act!
